  1. PowerDown will shut down your Mac after
  2. the specified time.  It does this by sending
  3. a 'ShutDown' AppleEvent to the Finder, 
  4. which is exactly the same as when you
  5. choose 'Shut Down' from the Special menu.
  6.  
  7. You can interrupt the shutdown by moving
  8. the mouse during the warning alert.
  9.  
  10. Any applications that have unsaved 
  11. documents will pop up their alert box
  12. _behind_ the blacked out screen.
